ADULT NOVICE
ADULT WALK TROT GUIDELINES
*UPDATED~ READ CAREFULLY ~
These divisions were created to help beginning adult riders learn to compete at their own level, therefore green horses with experienced riders in adult divisions will now be shown in the new Green Horse Division.
Riders in the Pleasure and Equitation Adult Novice classes or Adult Walk-Trot will be expected to advance to the Adult division within a reasonable time. If a rider continually places at the top of the classes in numerous shows, it may be time to advance.
Riders in the Sr Novice Games will be expected to graduate to the Adult division if their times are consistently close to or better than the placing times of the Adult riders.
Riders will be reviewed by the Show Committee on an annual basis to determine if they should move up or remain a Novice. Overall rider ability will be assessed with consideration given to the horse’s abilities and training.
In making the decision to graduate a rider to the Adult Division, other issues might be considered based on observations noted during the show season.
SPECIAL NOTICE: Any rider may choose to advance to the Adult Division at any time during the show season. Riders may choose to graduate at the end of the season and notify the Show Committee in advance to receive the honors at the Awards Banquet.
Any rider who is asked to advance by the Show Committee can appeal the decision in writing to the Ethics Committee within 30 days of notification.
