YOUTH NOVICE GUIDELINES

This division was created to help advanced youth riders learn to compete at their own level.

             Riders in the Youth Novice Games will be expected to graduate to the Youth division if their times are consistently close to or better than the placing times of Youth riders. 

             Riders will be reviewed by the Show Committee on an annual basis to determine if they should move up or remain a Novice.  Overall rider ability will be assessed with consideration given to the horse’s abilities and training.

             In making the decision to graduate a rider to the Youth Division, other issues might be considered based on observations noted during the show season.

SPECIAL NOTICE:  Any rider may choose to advance to the Youth Division at any time during the show season.  Riders may choose to graduate at the end of the season and notify the Show Committee in advance to receive the honors at the Awards Banquet.

The parents or legal guardians of any rider who is asked to advance by the Show Committee can appeal the decision in writing to the Ethics Committee within 30 days of notification.
